Wood or wood fibres have a natural tendency to swell when exposed to liquids for long periods of time. For this reason, floors made of wood or wood-based materials - such as the sustainable material HDF - are not naturally suitable for rooms where water is frequently handled. Stone or vinyl floors are often laid here.

You know the little mishaps of everyday life: The glass of water that falls. The dog that runs from the garden into the living room with dirty paws. Or the dripping rain jacket after a walk in the rain.

Our Dureco flooring is perfectly prepared for these situations. With SEAL, we ‘seal’ the floor through a combination of different technologies. This prevents moisture from penetrating the inside of the floor. The most important component is the extremely dense core board. The denser a material is, the less water it absorbs. With ExtremeDense technology, we have developed a wood-based substrate that can withstand moisture for up to 48 hours. In this way, we prevent swelling and the appearance of the floor remains unchanged.

Dureco consists almost entirely of wood and other organic materials. Each layer of the product structure contains healthy and sustainable components. The healthy core of the floor is its compacted carrier board made of wood fibres. This is stabilised from below by a backing, which is also made of wood fibres. The surface of the Dureco floor is made of resin into which we mix the natural mineral corundum.
